Ogun Senator’s aide’s murder: Suspects Arrested

Three persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of Adeniyi Sanni, an aide to Senator Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi.

Sani was found dead with bullet wounds in the early hours of August 5 around Oshodi area in Lagos after he earlier ran into a checkpoint at Ojodu-Berger area ostensibly mounted by his killers.

The suspects, Fred Azeez Okuno, a 43-year-old resident of Lagos; Lucky Idudu Michael, a 33-year-old from Delta State; and Adedigba Segun, a 26-year-old from Ibadan, Oyo state were paraded at a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Ikeja on Monday.

The Sate Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa said their apprehension followed a discreet investigation.

According to him, “Through painstaking intelligence and investigative activities which brought out the best in the capacity of Lagos Police Command, we have succeeded in arresting the syndicate of the robbery and murder. The three suspects directly involved in the robbery and murder were arrested with three firearms including the killer’s weapon were recovered.”
