A 45-year-old police inspector, Festus Onori, has been killed by Okada riders in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The deceased was lynched to death in the presence of his wife and children on their way to church on Sunday.

His killers are believed to be of Northern extraction in the Okada business.

One of them, according to report, hit Inspector Onori’s vehicle behind in Okpanam, while he was heading to church with his family.

Sources said, it took him time to park, and examine his car and at the same time looked back to see the condition of the rider and his passenger.

However, to his surprise about 20 Okada riders bearing clubs and sticks were approaching him to which he jumped into the car and zoomed off.

Despite the Okada rider and the passenger not in any danger, without any significant injuries, his chasers continued to pursue him, and eventually caught up with him after the car ran out of fuel.

The account added that, they clubbed him to death and set the vehicle ablaze, all in the presence of his wife and children.
