An All Progressive Congress, APC chieftain, Olisaemeka Akamukalem, has died in Abuja as a result of flooding caused by heavy rain.
Late Akamukalem, was a member of the Board of Trustees of the ruling party, and hailed from Delta State.

The 57-year-old died on Tuesday when a torrential rainfall swept away his car at Gwarimpa area.
Report said his remains had been recovered and deposited at the Kubwa General Hospital morgue.
In a statement released on Thursday, the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Bolaji Abdullahi, expressed sadness over Akamukalem’s death saying his demise occurred at a time his service was much needed by the party.
The statement reads in part, “He was the Director-General of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso Campaign for President and thereafter served as member of the APC Presidential Campaign Committee that worked for the successful election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
“The late party chieftain who served the APC as first interim National Auditor was one the stabilizing forces in the party and always identified with progressive causes to strengthen the Party and ensure unity among members.”
