Two cemetery security guards in Ondo State have been caught with corpses’ heads in Surulere area.
One of the guards is simply identified as Alhaji.
The incident happened on Sunday, leading into a mob action that almost left the suspects killed but for the timely intervention of men of the state security outfit codenamed Amotekun, who came to their rescue and handed them to the police.
Reports varied as to the circumstances in which they were caught with some saying they were found while digging graves to exhume dead bodies at the cemetery.
Another, which equally gained wide traction has it that Alhaji was seen by someone who went into the bush to defecate breaking into some tombs at the cemetery and a came out with a bag.
The person, according to sources, smelt a rat and raised the alarm, prompting people within earshot to rush to the scene and mobbed the suspect and his accomplice.
