The bride simply identified as Lawretta and her tailor, Elisha, have been entangled in a social media spat after Mercy wore the former’s cloth for her 40th birthday photoshoot.
The bride had given the cloth to Elisha for sewing with the hope of wearing it for her wedding but the hope was dashed after another cloth of lower quality was delivered to her in Benin where the event was held.
But the tailor has taken responsibility for the incident.
Actress Aiyeola on Friday weighed in on the issue in an interview she granted Your View, a talk-show programme on Television Continental where she apologised on behalf of her colleague.
“Am surprised that Mercy has not said anything but on her behalf, am apologising to the bride. We all know the importance of such a day to a woman,” the actress said.
Throughout the programme, the 40-year-old gushed about her husband of ten years, Olayiwola Owolomose, and at a time, touched on her background revealing her parents split up when she was two and she grew up in Isolo area of Lagos State.
