Prof. Cyril Ndifon who was accused of raping his student, has been suspended.
The Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, Prof. Ndifon was accused of rape by a 20-year-old 400-level student(name withheld) through a letter written to the university authority by the student’s mum where she chronicled how the first professor of Law from Cross River State raped her daughter in his office after forcing her to write a test in his office.
Consequently Prof. Ndifon was arrested but later released. However, it was gathered that he is under police investigation but has not been charged.
On Thursday, a panel set up by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Ivara Esu to investigate the rape allegation suspended Prof. Ndifon from all activities involving the institution until further notice.
