The death of Iwuoha, who was an artisan occurred at No. 50 Onumonu Street in Owerri, the Imo State capital where he was Oparaugo’s tenant, on Wednesday, two days to his traditionally wedding scheduled for Friday, October 13, 2017.
Oparaugo is said to be a security guard with a new generation bank(name withheld). He and his children around 10pm on the fateful day attacked Iwuoha and stabbed their victim, who occupied the ground floor of their one-storey building to death.
Sources said trouble stated when Late Iwuoha came back from work around 7pm on Wednesday, and met a dead fowl on his entrance door.
He reportedly went to Oparaugo ,who operates a poultry farm close to the victim’s window to complain but the landlord took offence.
“Oparaugo was angry with Iwuoha and reached out for a machete, hit the young man with it on the shoulder, before his wife and children joined him and started stabbing the victim with kitchen knives. Horrific shouts and screams attracted neighbours to the scene,” eyewitnesses said.
It was gathered that Iwuoha died while he was being rushed to the hospital. His killers reportedly fled but were later arrested while their property was vandalised.
