Five persons, among them the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties and Regional Coordination, Abdullahi Kulani, have died from electrocution in Tudun-Wadan Pantami area of Gombe State.
An electrical surge in the early hours of Saturday morning handed the affected persons the cruel fate that also left others injured, as per the Gombe State Police Command.
Report attributed the melancholy event to a high-voltage surge from a nearby transformer in the area, which occurred just after dawn.
“Our officers moved quickly to secure the scene and evacuate the victims to hospitals for urgent medical care. Unfortunately, five individuals lost their lives, and thirteen others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” the spokesperson for the Gombe State Police Command, DSP Buhari Abdullahi remarked.
