Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has revealed the condition that would enable him to remain as part of the ongoing gang up by a section of big-time politicians against President Bola Tinubu’s reelection.
In that society are former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, ex-governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi and Obi himself, with rumour mill claiming they have settled for African Democratic Congress as the party on which platform they would stand in the way of Tinubu’s reelection come 2027.
“If the coalition is not about stopping the killings in Benue, Zamfara, how to revive our economy, how to make our industries productive, how to put food on the tables of Nigerians… Count me out. Nigeria is currently at war. We need to do something about it,” the former Anambra governor said in a statement his spokesman, Ibrahim Umar of the Peter Obi Media Reach released.
Also credited to Obi by Umar were statements refuting widespread report that he accepted rumoured proposal to be Atiku’s running mate in 2027, while he announced his resolve to spend one term in office if elected president.
