The Kaduna State Police Command has accused Senator Shehu Sani of complicity in the killing of one Lawal Madugu, a charge the Senator representing Kaduna Central denied, adding that it was politically motivated.

In a letter, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Austin Iwar, wrote to Sani, directing him to be at the Command Headquarters for questioning on April 30, the police linked the senator with Madugu’s killing saying the prime suspect, one Isa Garba, implicated the activist turned politician under interrogation.
The letter reads in part: “This is in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide transferred to this office by 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, alongside with exhibit audio CD, in which your name was mentioned by the principal suspect.”
