Police Officer Killed In Bandits’ attack of Zamfara Station

The Divisional Crime Officer, DCO, in charge of Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State has been killed in an attack on the police station in the area by bandits.

The unnamed officer’s killers also set the station ablaze.

According to local report, the attack of the station was precipitated by the killings of three bandits.

The latter were killed by police and vigilantes who ambushed them in the forest.

On Sunday at around 5pm, the bandits fully armed invaded Zurmi town, the headquarters of Zurmi LGA on a revenge mission, opening fire on the station and killing the DCO.

“Actually, one of the(bandits) was arrested when the police and the vigilantes stormed the forest during which three of the bandits were killed. So, on Sunday they came and started shooting indiscriminately, and at the end killed an officer and set the station ablaze,” a source who spoke on condition of anonymity narrated.
