The Kwara State Police Command has dismissed viral social media report claiming that a female police officer serving in the state was kidnapped and murdered.
Reports had said that a female Police Inspector, a prosecutor at the division was kidnapped and later found dead in the Oloje area of Ilorin.
Dismissing the claim, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said the report is “entirely false and deeply distressing.”
In the refutal, the public are warned against spreading unverified information that could cause panic.
“The command wishes to state unequivocally that this report is not only false but also misleading, with the intent to cause panic in the state.
“Members of the public are hereby advised to disregard this misleading information as there is no report of any female police officer missing or abducted in any division in the state,” the refutation read in part.
