The Benue State Police Command has weighed in on the death of a French tourist, Pietier Gilles, in a hotel room at Gboko area of the state.

Giles lodged into
Hotel Jovina on June 6 and died there on Saturday, with unconfirmed report claiming he fell sick, and declined request to be taken to the clinic prior to his demise.

Speaking on the sad incident, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Udeme Edet, said investigation has been launched into it.

Edet, however declared that the French death was unnatural and sudden.

“It is a case of a SUD (sudden and unnatural death). When the police got the call, we immediately arrived at the scene, and he was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

“The case has been transferred to the state CID for further investigation,” she told Punchng.
