A policeman simply identified as Isa is facing accusation of causing the death of his neighbour, Jimoh Kuton, in Ijotun area of Lagos, along Badagry Way.
The cop invited Kuton to help fetched his faulty pumping machine inside the well while in the course of carrying out the assignment the man drowned, Punchng reported.
The report said, late Kuton was able to bring out the machine from the well but got drowned, with his death blamed on the officer.
The bereaved family are also seeking for compensation.
“Isa is a policeman. After calling my husband to remove the pumping machine, he later called his brother to tell him that our husband had died in the well,” one of the deceased’s two widows told the publication.
