A police officer, Bulus Joel, has met his death at the hands of a a hit-and-run driver.
Joel, an Inspector, was killed on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the late hours of Tuesday.
The 43-year-old, according to report, lost his life in the line of duty in the course of directing traffic at about 11:55 p.m. on the fateful day.
Sources said the late officer was rammed down by a vehicle driven by an errant driver who ignored the officer’s directive by jumping the queue.
“Having hit Inspector Joel the driver sped off while the deceased was confirmed dead at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital at Sagamu where he was rushed to,” eyewitnesses said.
