A policeman attached to the Imo State Police Command, Cosmas Ugwu, has died of gunshots fired by his girlfriend.
Ugwu was killed on Tuesday, Boxing Day, by his 23-year-old girlfriend, Amanda Uchechi Ugo in his residence.
There has been contradictory accounts of circumstances surrounding the incident.
In some quarters, it borders on accidental discharge, while others are saying, it was a wilful act with Ugo said to have pulled the trigger thrice.
In any case, the killer lover has been arrested while the police authorities in the State have launched investigation into the matter.
