Assistant Commissioner of Police, Daniel Amah, renowned for his rejection of $200,000 bribe, has converted to Islam.
Amah in April 2022 was the Divisional Police Officer in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
At that time, he rejected a $200,000 bribe offered by armed robbery suspects who robbed a Bureau De Change operator of $750,000 in cash.
It is for that uprightness that the Police Service Commission promoted him from Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police while the then President Muhammadu Buhari honoured him with the prestigious 2022 Public Service Integrity Award.
On Wednesday at the palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II he was formally welcomed into the faith, and now bears Muhammad as his new name.
