A chopper with dignitaries including the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, and the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, on board escaped possible crash on Friday.
The chopper owned by Caverton Helicopters took off at the football field of Edo University, Iyamho, where the said dignitaries attended the first convocation ceremony of the university.
But shortly after it was in flight, the pilot returned it to the field, raising suspicion there was an issue.
The suspicion was confirmed when the pilot of an Air Force chopper nearby joined his Caverton colleague to carry out a quick troubleshooting.
At the end, only five passengers out of the lot boarded the chopper with the aides of the Lagos monarch dropped, indicating that it was earlier overloaded.
