A call has gone to people of means in our society to partner with government to eradicate poverty.
Making this call on Monday is the Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara state on NGO, Alh Ahmed Uthman Babakano at the ABYEM ACADEMY Charity event to support the aged and less privileged in the society.
The event took place at Alagbon and Akorede communities in Budo Oso area of the state.
In his own remark, the Chairman/CEO of ABYEM ACADEMY, Mr Abiodun Otepola who doled out items like food, clothing, and cash, along with free medical services to the less privileged at the event, said his charitable act is motivated by empathy for the less privileged.
The event is one of the numerous social intervention programmes put together by ABYEM FOUNDATION to support the poor especially at this Yuletide period.
Over 70 people drawn from various communities benefited from the food and cash gifts.
Dignitaries in attendance include: Alh Shamsudeen Aregbe, Director of of Budget for Kwara State, Alh Rasaq Gidado, federal commissioner,NPC, CSP FABODE,Prof Ibrahim Salau of political science dept.,KWASU ,Barr Jumoke Oloye, chairperson Human rights commission among many others.
