Utomi, who is vying for Delta State governorship election in 2019 under the umbrella of All Progressive Congress, APC, stated this during a Consultative meeting with the party’s leaders in Delta Central while mobilsing support for his ambition.
The political economist and management expert at the meeting promised the leaders that he won’t seek reelection if elected, describing politicians seeking office after 10 years of service as social parasites.
He also has harsh words for the electorate for voting into public offices such politicians repeatedly.
According to him, “Doing the same thing repeatedly and hoping for a different outcome is the definition of insanity. And to be truthful, that is what we have been doing in Delta State. We have for many years, after the era of Olorugun Felix Ibru who I am ever pleased to acknowledge as someone I was friendly with, have repeated gone wrong ways.
“We do it in ways that not only will shock Einstein but will crush George Orwell who reminds us that, ‘a people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims but accomplices.”
