The Federal Government has formed a special prosecution team to expedite the prosecution of public officials accused of corruption.
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami (SAN), made this known on Tuesday when the Bring Back Our Girls Movement visited him in his office in Abuja, adding that the prosecution team comprised all stakeholders in the criminal justice system.
The team according to the AGF, would be responsible for carrying out effective investigation and preparation of relevant charges in accordance with the law of the land without compromise.
He explained that the government was worried with the way past administrations, handled cases of corruption involving public officials, adding that some of the cases would be revisited.
“We will preview previous cases and bring to book cases that were compromised in previous prosecution and those involved in the compromise will be brought to book,” the AGF said.
