Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Wednesday was thrown into chaos following angry protest over the killing of a 16-year-old sitting for the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WAEC.

The deceased whose identity was not known by this medium as of the time of this publication was said to be an apprentice at a Printer’s shop at Mokola area of Ibadan.

Report stated that he worked into the night and was sent on errand to buy food at his workplace around 12.30am when gunshots allegedly fired by a member of Oyo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun pursuing suspected thieves hit him, killing him in the process.

The protesters took to the road leading to the State Secretariat, barricaded it and set up a bonfire causing gridlock.

They demanded to see Governor Rotimi Makinde, insisting that the the trigger-happy operative must be produced and prosecuted.
