The Jigawa State Government has announced its decision to provide Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) for its residents at the cost of N2.83 billion.

The latter has been earmarked for the purpose of the feeding programme aimed at providing meals for poor and vulnerable persons in the state.

This is as per the state’s Commissioner for Information, Sagir Musa.

The latter via a statement said the programme will be implemented at 609 feeding centres, with a focus on providing three different food items to 182,700 poor and vulnerable people daily.

Musa said dedicated feeding centres will be established at each of the state’s 10 tertiary institutions, adding that the programme will be held for three weeks while around 3.8m vulnerable people stand to benefit from it.
