Bereaved parents of deceased Benue militia leader, late Terwase Akwaza, better known as Gana, have pleaded for the release of his remains.
Recall that Gana, a notorious terrorist was killed by soldiers on his way to Makurdi, the Benue capital to sign up for the state government’s amnesty programme alongside forty members of his gang.
The killing sparked mixed reactions with some commentators hurling insults at the military.
He was reported to have accepted Christ before his killing, a claim his parents echoed in an interview with The Nation where they also called for the release of his remains, ostensibly to enable them give him a befitting burial.
“Since our son Gana embraced Christ and repented before his killing we beg the military to release his body to us to give him a decent burial,” the paper quoted late Gana’s parents as saying.
