Member of House of Representatives, representing Bauchi Federal Constituency, Hon Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi, has been declared wanted for murder.
Other crimes imputed to the federal lawmaker, a member of the APC gubernatorial campaign council of Air Martial Saddique Baba Abubakar, the APC governorship cabdidate in the March 18 elections are; criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt and disturbance of public peace, with a million naira bounty placed on him by the police.
The allegations against the 45-year-old partly border on claim that he engineered the recent free-for-all fight between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and their APC counterparts at Duguri, Gov. Bala Mohammed’s hometown during APC rally. It left one person dead while fifteen sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Reacting to the charges and the denotation that he was on the run, the lawmaker, said it was all Gov. Mohammed’s game plan to shut him out of Bauchi State, saying, “He (Gov. Bala Mohammed) doesn’t want me to come to Bauchi for fear of being defeated in the governorship election. I was not formally invited by the police and being a serving member of the House Representative, there are laid down procedures to either invite or get a member’s attention and even arrest.”
