The Kano State Police Command has announced its ban of all Durbar activities during the 2025 Eid-El-Fitr Sallah festivities.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, made the announcement on Friday at a press briefing held at the Bompai Police Headquarters.
Bakori said the ban was necessitated by security concerns and the need to maintain public order.
“As we celebrate, let us remember that peace is paramount. We must put aside our differences and work together as law-abiding citizens for the progress of our state and nation,” CP Bakori urged the state residents.
The Commissioner also emphasised strict ban on horse riding (Kilisa), car racing, and reckless driving during the festive period.
According to CP Bakori, the decision was to ensure a peaceful and secure environment throughout the celebrations.
Recall that Emirs Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II and Ado Bayero are both laying claim to the throne, with the state government in support of the former Central Bank of Nigeria governor while federal government is siding with Bayero.
