The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II, on Friday in Kano, gave Chief Imam of Limawa Jumat mosque in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state, Malam Salihu Muhammed, the boot.
Muhammed’s crime is that he defied Sanusi’s order and refused to join the Kano emir to end fasting and pray the Eid- fitr prayer the following day.
Instead, he claimed the moon had not been sighted and led his congregation a day after to observe the Muslim festival prayer, a re-occurrence of his act last year.
His sack, according to report is with immediate effect.
