The controversial deportation of miscreants by Lagos State government to Osun State is said to be without the consent of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Lagos task force stemming from the discovery of about 86 partitioned rooms, a makeshift apartments under the Dolphin Bridge set out to rid the state of miscreants and vagabonds, consequently picking some suspects and transporting them to Osun where they hail from.
The latter’s governor, Ademola Adeleke, by proxy said his Lagos counterpart is unaware of the evacuation.
This, Adeleke stated by a statement his spokesman, Olawale Rasheed released.
Rasheed wrote, “I (Adeleke) spoke with my brother, Governor Sanwo-Olu, on the matter. He too was surprised, and he denied ever authorising any such action. Governor Sanwo-Olu has promised an immediate investigation to unravel the facts of the situation. The Lagos team will update us as quickly as possible.
“I am subsequently directing our security agencies in Osun to mount surveillance in and around Ilesa to track the deported youths and their destinations. I will update our people on this development. I urge residents to be calm while the security agencies carry out surveillance.”
