Lagos Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday paid condolence visit to families whose relatives died in Thursday morning’s train-bus’ crash at Shogunle area of the state.
The six deceased, five of whom were government workers and a National Youths Service Corps member, Miss Aina Oreoluwa Julianah(pictured above), whose place of primary assignment was the state secretariat were aboard the ill-fated staff bus number, 33 alongside over 80 others.
The driver named, Oluwaseun Osinbajo had ignored flagman’s warning to exercise patience and allow an oncoming train to pass, according to report in general circulation.
The ensuing crash resulted in the death of six persons on the bus, with 79 others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
Governor Sanwo-Olu accompanied by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, and some members of the State Executive Council visited all the bereaved families individually, including that of Miss Aina.
At Jakande Estate, Oke Afa, and Ikotun areas, three families received the governor.
He also paid condolence visit to another victim’s family, Esther Rokosu, a staff of Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), and 54-year-old Mrs. Victoria Johnson nee Dada, a Social Welfare Officer of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
