Senate President Bukola Saraki has confirmed insinuation that there is no love lost between President Muhammadu Buhari and some members of the Senate.
Saraki made this confirmation on Saturday in Jos. the Plateau State capital while declaring open Senate Press Corps Retreat,
In a veiled comment, the Senate President validated report of tension between the executive and the legislative arms at the federal level.
He added that the frosty relationship was caused by the federal government, accusing it of alleged disrespect for the rule of law and the Senate.
His word, “Just few days ago, there was the issue of providing funding for the purchase of security equipment. In a good environment, such an issue needed to have been discussed with lawmakers. Already, some senators are angry. They said they were not consulted by the executive before such a decision was taken. These are the issues we are talking about.”
