An Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ogbon-Inu Taiwo Popoola, has died of suspected heart attack in Ebonyi State.
Popoola’s death occurred on Tuesday around 11am while attending a management meeting at the command headquarters in Abakaliki.
The deceased was the officer in charge of the State Intelligence Department.
Report said in the middle of the meeting, Popoola suddenly developed breathing difficulties and began gasping for air during the meeting.
The situation it was said, prompted those trying to revive him to rush him to the Police Medical Centre at the Police Headquarters where he was promptly attended to by medical personnel.
The latter’s efforts, however, were in vain as the incident became the source of the senior cop’s end.
It was further gathered that preliminary medical results pointed at cardiac arrest as cause of his demise.
