Professor Pat Utomi has revealed that 500 lawyers are being put together to defend him in the suit the Department of State Services, DSS, filed against him.
Consequent to the creation of a shadow government under the name: ‘Big Tent Coalition Shadow Government’, by the 2007 African Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, the DSS dragged the Professor of Political Economy to court.
In the suit filed by the secret police, it accused Utomi of plot to incite public unrest and destabilising the country.
Taking to his X handle on Friday, the Professor in a series of tweets hit out at the DSS, the President Bola Tinubu’s administration and during the reproach revealed that 500 lawyers are being arranged to defend him.
“To stifle freedom of expression and bully civilized expression of difference is an act of cowardice and treachery to the constitution of Nigeria.
“What many people cannot figure out is how we got here. However, we did, patriots from the six zones of Nigeria must rise to reject this.
“I am heartened by messages of solidarity from across Nigeria on this shadowy business of chasing shadows of shadow cabinets.
“Reminds me of the Nigeria I used to know. I want to thank all. It’s energizing some want to put together 500 lawyers to defend me against the DSS,” the tweet partly reads.
