Six suspected members of a fraud syndicate have been arrested in Ondo State for using fake miracles to scam residents.
The suspects’ names are: Fadahunsi, Kolade, Tijani, Iyanuoluwa, Arijesulola and Ademola.
The six men under the guise of employing spiritual power to help innocent patrons to overcome life difficulties including financial hardship and health issues made their victims to part with monies.
On the strength of an intel on the gang’s activities at Idanre area of the state, the police apprehended them with report saying they masqueraded as pastors and organised fake healing and deliverance sessions to gain their victims’ confidence before demanding money from them.
Report has it that the suspects assigned each member specific roles in order to sustain the illusion of legitimacy during their operations.
The police, according to its spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, has launched investigation into the matter with a view to unravel whether other members of the gang were at large, adding that effort is ongoing to prosecute the arrested individuals.
