Mrs Fatimah Adamu Alkali, the widow of late DSP Mohammed Alikali, who was beheaded by unknown gunmen alongside his police orderly during December 12, 2016 re-run elections in Rivers State spoke of the devastation caused by the loss of her beloved husband.

The mother-of-three, Bilkisu, Aliyu and Rabi said that owing to the demands of the deceased’s work they last saw three months before his death.
She disclosed she and the children were looking forward to travel down to Port Harcourt to celebrate the yuletide period with him when the unthinkable happened.
“I had not seen my husband in more than three months before his death. And we spoke on phone in the morning of that fateful Saturday and as usual we exchanged pleasantries and he asked after our children… But shortly after that I started receiving calls from some of his colleagues and his junior officers, immediately I knew something had happened to my husband,” she told Tribune.
