The federal government said security operatives complicit in the escape of under prosecution Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, have been arrested.
Anjarwalla and his colleague regional manager of Binance, Tigran Gambaryan, were arrested after they flew into Nigeria to meet up with the authorities over the blockage of the cryptocurrency platform and others by the government.
The latter went on to level terrorism financing, money laundering and tax evasion against the company and on the orders of the court remanded the duo while they are scheduled to have their days in court on April 4.
Last Friday, Anjarwalla sneaked out of the country under the nose of the Office of the National Security Adviser in whose custody both were in.
While efforts are geared towards apprehending the fleeing Kenyan cum British citizen, the federal government through the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said those with direct responsibility to ensure this did not happen are now under arrest.
“Yes, the man has escaped from our custody, and there is now a manhunt on him. Those who were charged with his custody have been arrested and will be brought to book,” Idris told newsmen.
