A former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, on Tuesday has likened the manner government is treating communities in Southern parts of Kaduna State, to that of apartheid time in South Africa.

Sani drew this comparison against the backdrop of the spate of attacks of the area by marauding Fulanis. Belief is rife that government is not keen to change the narrative, with the latest being on Sunday night during which over 28 people are reportedly killed in separate attacks in Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities of Kagoro chiefdom in Kaura Local Government Area of the state.

On the back of it, the Senator took to his twitter, saying “No part of Kaduna is spared of terrorist attacks, violence, and kidnappings. However, the killings in Southern Kaduna by terrorist groups are systemic; the people of that part of the state are also institutionally treated like the blacks under apartheid South Africa.”
