Activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has been declared wanted in respect of his plan to lead a protest in Lagos over the recent demolition of houses in Oworonshoki area of the state.

The Lagos State Police Commissioner
Olohundare Jimoh announced this on Monday while speaking to newsmen at the Iyana-Oworo section of the Third Mainland Bridge.

The CP accused the Sahara Reporters publisher of plotting to instigate public unrest and obstruct major roads in the state, and ignoring earlier warnings from the police not to mobilise protests over the demolition.

“Sowore should surrender at the nearest police station or face arrest wherever he is found,” Jimoh said.

He faulted the motive behind the planned protest arguing that the state government has compensated those the demolition exercise concerned.

“The government compensated those affected, and the media witnessed it. There is no justification to provoke a crisis under the guise of protest,” the police chief stated.
