A chieftain of the Yoruba apex socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Femi Okunrounu, has hit out at Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, describing him as a “hypocrite.”
Okunrounmu spoke against the backdrop of Soyinka’s recent vitriol at President Muhammadu Buhari in which the literati lambasted Buhari saying the country’s problems have overwhelmed the president.

The Afenifere leader said Soyinka has no moral right to condemn Buhari after campaigning vigorously for his election and re-election in an interview he granted The Sun.
“Soyinka is a hypocrite. He was one of the staunch supporters of Buhari. He was short of declaring Buhari a saint immediately after Buhari took over in 2015.
“Thank God his two eyes are now clear. May be he didn’t shine his eyes very well before eulogizing Buhari and openly supporting him. It is good that Soyinka and former President Obasanjo are now realizing their mistakes for supporting APC to get power,” he told the paper.
