Victor Fajemirokun, one of the three suspects in the brutal murders of a senior Road Safety Corps officer, Funmilayo Lasisi and her 12-year-old daughter has claimed that their action was aimed to assuage his destiny.
Victor, a grilled fish seller in Osun was paraded alongside his two accomplices including a herbalist by the Osun State Police Command.
Victor in the statement claimed the slain FRSC officer was his girlfriend and had been told by the herbalist that she was behind his life of poverty and would only escape poverty if he killed her.
However, his account ran contrary to that of the state Commissioner of Police (CP), Ibrahim Gotan.
Gotan said the heinous crime was money ritual and organ harvest motivated.
Speaking on how the suspects were arrested, the police chief stated that investigation led to the arrest of Gboyega Daramola, the herbalist known as Aberefa, who confessed that Victor lured a woman and her daughter to his place where they were killed for a money ritual.
He narrated further that the herbalist led them to Esa-Odo Dam where they dumped the remains of the victims with vital parts missing, saying one Sunday James, an apprentice of the herbalist, was also arrested, and confessed to have slaughtered the mother and her child on the instructions of his boss.
