A 35-year-old teacher in Edo State, Bright Asiruwa who in 2007 raped an 11-year-old pupil (name withheld) has finally been jailed for life after a long legal battle.
In 2008, the matter commenced at an Abudu High Court before it was transferred to a Benin High Court where a presiding judge, Justice G. O. Imadegbelo yesterday sentenced Asiruwa to life imprisonment, having found him guilty of the offence.
The victim was a student of the convict at Osazuwa Primary School, Ehor, in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of the state
