Attempt by a distraught father-of-three, Samuel Akinbode, to commit suicide on Monday on Third Mainland Bridge was foiled by the Lagos State Police Command.

Akinbode was said to be on a mission to jump into the Lagoon at Oworo-end when he was stopped in his track by men of the Rapid Response Squad.
Upon questioning the 40-year-old, who claimed to be a driver said financial chaos is plaguing his life so his resort to suicide.
“Yesterday, our vigilant officers on Third Mainland Bridge prevented this young man from diving into the Lagoon. His expression of frustration made him hell-bent on jumping despite being restrained by the officers,” RRS tweeted via its handle, @rrslagos767.
