Three persons into traffic robbery have been caught after robbing the Alausa Division District Police Officer, Abaniwonda Tokunbo of her phone and macheting her.
The incident happened at the Otedola Bridge in the Alausa Ikeja area of Lagos State while the DPO was on a sting operation on April 9 around 11.00pm.
Police source said the suspects namely: Tochuckwu Nonso, aka Thug Life, Chidera Christopher, and Richard Etim attacked Tokunbo with cutlasses and robbed her of her Samsung S22 phone.
Upon the dastardly operation, the suspects took flight and went into hiding until discreet investigations led to their arrests on April 13.
“They were traced to a hotel at Akute area and were arrested at around 10am in the hotel while the stolen phone was recovered from them,” sources said.
