Three Officers Feared Killed In Attack on Enugu Police Checkpoint

Report said, on Thursday gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in Enugu State leaving three officers dead on the spot. 

The incident, according to SaharaReporters, occurred at around 9.30am at Akwuke Junction in Enugu South local government area of the state causing tension among residents.  

As per eyewitness, which the online news medium quoted, a checkpoint in front of MTD Police Station in Akwuke, opposite Boom Plaza near Tipper park before Enugu – Port-Harcourt highway was where the gunmen attacked the officers. 

The report added that uncertainty surrounds the number of officers, who suffered casualties. 

“I don’t know the extent of casualties but what I heard is that the gunmen have already killed three policemen. When I was passing the checkpoint around 8:30 am, the operatives were six in number,” it quoted the source as saying.
