The account, is that of the victims and their Muslim colleagues who took to Ife streets on Friday in protest of the assault.

According to their report, the unprovoked onslaught was perpetrated by Oro adherents while they (Muslim faithful) were in the process of observing the Asr Prayer around 4.00pm, with some performing ablution.

“Lo and behold, the traditional worshippers stormed the mosque to unleash a furious attack on the congregation, stabbing the Imam and five others,” source acquainted with the religious violence said.

It was further gathered that the matter is before the police while Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has also stepped into it, with reconciliation seemed to be in sight.
