Four persons including a cyclist conveying three passengers in his tricycle, aka Keke Marwa were crushed to death in Lagos by a moving train.
The sad incident occurred on Tuesday at about 6.45 at the Iju-Ishaga area of the state, according to New Telegraph, which reported the tricycle was heading to Abule-Egba from Oke-Aro when all the occupants except one met their deaths in the hands of the train.
It said the death of the deceased cyclist was self-inflicted saying he refused to heed to warning not to cross the rail while the train was advancing.
Quoting an eyewitness, the paper wrote: “Those of us, who were outside when the incident occurred, repeatedly warned the tricycle driver to allow the train to go, but he insisted on quickly crossing. Everyone had seen the train from afar, and warned other drivers to wait; but when the tricycle driver came he tried to move faster than the train. “One of the passengers jumped out of the tricycle, but others were not that lucky. It was a gory sight to behold. Three passengers and the tricycle driver didn’t survive. It was an unfortunate incident.”
