A man has escaped death in Lagos after he sat on a rail track at Cappa/Oshodi, with onlookers dreading he would be crushed by an onrushing train, but the harm was not done.
The report said the man in question was said to be in grief after he lost N35,000 and took a seat on the rail-track and apparently was lost in thought as he could not notice the approaching train nor hear its beep.
He was however saved from tragedy by the halting of the train.
“I was on my way to Arena when I realised I had lost N35,000,” the paper quoted the lucky man as saying, and an eyewitness: “Even I could hear the train horn from a far distance.”
