The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in praise of Nigeria’s judiciary, said his only concern is how politicians’ ways of inducement would weigh with the judiciary.
Obi stated this in the context of his case before the tribunal, challenging the declaration of the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner of February 25 election by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.
The former Anambra State governor shared this perspective in an interview with Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday morning, where he remarked that politicians are proverb for corruption, and have the tendency to corrupt anybody including the judiciary.
His word, “I believe Nigeria has one of the best judiciary globally, but it is we, politicians, because of our transactional nature, that are trying to ensure that everywhere is corrupted and that I wish can start reversing, even with this case. They are seeing globally what is happening, Africans are surprised that the giant of Africa can no longer deliver. Even Ghana will soon have elections and they will do all without the BVAS and it will go smoothly.”
