Trophy ambassador, Femi Adebayo, has ceased promoting the beer in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital where he hails from.
The Nollywood actor until recently before Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed dissolved his cabinet including Special Advisers (SA), Senior Special Assistants (SSA) and Special Assistants (SA) was an aide to the governor on Arts, Culture, and Tourism.
The law graduate turned actor has been Trophy’s brand ambassador since September 2015 leading to him being used in some of the alcoholic beverage adverts particularly that of billboard.
In Kwara, he was the model for all trophy adverts on billboards until recently in Ilorin after some Muslim clerics in the metropolis convinced him to stop promoting the beer in the area.
“Muslim clerics invited him to a meeting and advised him to stop promoting the beer in Ilorin, and remove those adverts that had him as model on billboard,” source familiar with situation told our correspondent.
An advice Adebayo heeded to, all trophy billboard adverts in Ilorin, now wore a new look with new models but in other parts of the state the actor is still on them.
