President Donald Trump has signed orders including pulling out United States from World Health Organization and Paris Agreement.
The latter borders on climate change and the need to combat global warming.
The latest United States’ jettison of the accord marked the second time the country would excuse itself under Trump who in his delivering on his campaign promises to steer the US in the direction of scaling up on mass manufacturing and unclean energy sources.
On the score of exiting WHO, it is on grounds of the US monetary donation to the United Nations body, being on the higher side when compared to that of Republic of China.
In his new executive order, Trump directed agencies to “pause the future transfer of any United States Government funds, support, or resources to the WHO” and to “identify credible and transparent United States and international partners to assume necessary activities previously undertaken by the WHO.”
This leaves the WHO facing a major blow to its budget.
