Two suspects, Victoria Ogunsomi and Shafe Abayomi, have been arrested on suspicion of scooping fuel from a pipeline, property of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

Ogunsomi and Abayomi, according to report, were perpetrating the crime in their respective houses at Surprise Avenue where they dug well and connected hoses with submersible pumping machines to NNPC pipeline.

That way, the criminal partners were siphoning fuel into jerry cans and tankers in commercial quantity each time the oil commission pumped petrol through the pipe.

Their bubble burst after a resident of the area who in fear of the consequences of their activities squealed on them to the police.

The duo, who are now in police custody were on Monday paraded at the State Command.
